Let every word stand in the light

Morning mist asks for darker ink; nightfall asks for brighter letters. Contrast is the distance between words and light — 4.5:1 is the floor; comfort lives above. Sphinx of black quartz, judge my vow. 0123456789

Pass & fail, side by side

One layout, one paper, four text colors from dark to light. If you can see the difference, you can hold the standard — click any card to load it above.

About the standard: WCAG defines two conformance levels. AA requires at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text (≥18pt, or ≥14pt bold); AAA requires 7:1 and 4.5:1. Our fix suggestion walks the OKLCH lightness axis to the closest value that passes, so your brand feel stays intact.
